EFE helped to equip a safe educational space

The creation of a high-quality and safe educational environment for children with special educational needs was made possible thanks to the charitable assistance of EFE.

EFE donated more than 200 m² of high-quality and reliable paving slabs to the St. Nicholas Multidisciplinary Training and Rehabilitation Center in Bryukhovychi to equip the paths to the center's new classrooms. Supporting this social initiative was another successful charity project of EFE in 2024.

The St. Nicholas Multidisciplinary Educational and Rehabilitation Center, a municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council, teaches children with special educational needs of all ages, from preschoolers and schoolchildren to students in grades 12-13, who receive pre-professional education at the center. The center's mission is to help children with special educational needs to believe in their own abilities, become socially useful people and active members of civil society.

In order to realize this mission, the center needs to provide its students with modern educational opportunities and a safe learning space, equipped with the needs of students.

According to Natalia Tsymbalyuk, director of the St. Nicholas Multidisciplinary Training and Rehabilitation Center, the number of students at the center has increased by almost a third in the past year alone, from 236 to more than 300. However, there was a catastrophic lack of classrooms. Therefore, the municipal institution had to expand incredibly quickly, and in the face of war, to equip additional educational space.

Thanks to the charitable assistance of a number of Ukrainian and foreign organizations, we managed to create high-quality, safe, adaptable classrooms and the surrounding area in record time. Some sponsors provided modular premises, while others helped with the surrounding area. EFE, as a reliable partner in construction solutions, provided its 30 x 30 cm paving stones for the construction of comfortable and safe paths connecting the center's classrooms.

The installation of the paths was an important addition to the new learning space. Previously, there was a dirt surface unsuitable for the movement of children with disabilities. So with the laying of paving stones, it became possible to fully function the modular houses where classes are held. According to the institution, the new educational buildings are places where ideas are already being born, talents are being discovered, and children are receiving the corrective support and knowledge they need so much.

"We are grateful for the significant contribution to the development of our educational and rehabilitation center. This support has become a great gift for us and allowed us to create more comfortable conditions for our children to learn and develop," says Natalia Tsymbalyuk, the center's director.

According to her, it is not only about comfort for students, but also about providing educational opportunities, about believing in every child who dreams, learns and develops at the St. Nicholas Center.
