EFE at KyivBuild 2025: automation that changes the industry

How EFE presented its experience at the key construction event of the year

Ukraine's construction industry is changing rapidly, adapting to new challenges and technological solutions. One of the main topics today is the automation of production processes, which allows building faster, cheaper and better. EFE, as one of the leaders in the production of reinforced concrete structures, presented its experience in this area at KyivBuild 2025, the key construction exhibition in Ukraine. For three days, the company shared its knowledge, introduced the industry to advanced technologies and demonstrated how automation is changing the industry.

One of the most important events of the exhibition was the conference "Reinforced Concrete and Innovations: New Horizons of Industrial Technologies" organized by KyivBuild and ProfBuild. It was here that EFE made a presentation on production automation and showed real cases of its implementation.

The main topics of the conference: what are the challenges facing the industry?

The conference discussed the most relevant topics of the construction market, including:

  • The impact of the great war on the concrete and reinforced concrete market
  • Optimization of construction processes thanks to prefab technologies
  • Solutions for production towns and industrial parks
  • Automation of the production of reinforced concrete structures
  • Key legislative changes for the construction business in 2025
  • The use of 3D printing in construction
  • Prefabrication as an opportunity to rebuild Ukraine

EFE and automation: why is it important?

Based on its own experience, EFE has shown that automation in the production of reinforced concrete is not just a trend, but a necessity for maintaining competitiveness. Oleksandr Shuvaev, Head of Reinforced Concrete Production at EFE, spoke about the implementation of technological solutions in the company and their real impact on performance.

Key achievements of EFE in automation:

Investments in development: since 2022, $12 million has been invested in the reinforced concrete business, which has allowed us to significantly expand and modernize production

Increased production capacity: the company is now able to produce 350 m³ of reinforced concrete per day

Use of a Schnell 3D machine, which allows for the rapid production of complex reinforcing structures with minimal material loss

Launch of a line for the production of reinforced concrete products by vibroforming (CGM, Italy), which increased productivity by 13 times

Case study: automation in the restoration of the Irpin bridge

One of the iconic examples of automation efficiency is the production of 64 bridge beams for the restoration of the bridge over the Irpin River:

32 bridge beams 33 meters long, 1.5 meters high and weighing 36 tons each

32 bridge beams 24 meters long, 1.1 meters high and weighing 21.5 tons each

This case has once again proved that innovative solutions not only optimize work, but also ensure high product quality and project accuracy.

The introduction of automated solutions, namely the Schnell 3D machine, has had a positive impact on the efficiency of production processes:

Reduced the total time for manufacturing beams by 40%. Previously, the reinforcement process for such a project would have taken 5.5 months, but now it takes two weeks

Optimized labor resources. Instead of 7 employees, only 1 operator was enough

It has had a positive impact on waste-free production, as material residues during bending have been reduced to zero

This case has once again proved that innovative solutions not only optimize work, but also ensure high product quality and project accuracy.

What's next? How does EFE plan to develop automation?

The company is not resting on its laurels and continues to introduce new technologies into its production processes. The nearest plans include:

Introduction of equipment for automated bending of large diameter rebar

Optimizing rebar cutting to reduce waste and increase efficiency

Increasing production capacity of bridge girders. Today, they reach up to 200 meters per week

KyivBuild 2025: the main conclusions

KyivBuild 2025 has once again confirmed that automation is not the future, but the present of the Ukrainian construction industry. Technological development is becoming the main advantage of companies that seek not only to survive but also to set trends in the industry.

EFE has once again demonstrated that it is not just a manufacturer but a leader in innovation. Its automated solutions are changing the market and helping to create efficient, high-quality and competitive products.
